2013 Don Juan de Hus x Lanciano x Fidermark
Please contact W Farms at 909 902 5447

DJ is a lovely rising 5 year old Rhinelander gelding. He currently stands at 16.1 hands and is expected to grow another inch or two. He has 3 excellent gaits that would be suitable for a professional and the disposition and temperament necessary for an amateur. Like his father Don Juan de Hus, he has a huge canter, uphill with a very expressive front leg. He has a ground-covering trot with a nice hind leg and a correct 4 beat walk with clear overstep. He is forward thinking, yet light and even in the contact. He is very smart, always trying to understand and please his rider and he is very quick to learn, remembering new things easily. He is calm in his disposition and he really lets you ride him. He has no health or soundness issues and has a current set of x-rays, including back, neck and stifles. He has correct confirmation, with great feet and straight legs.

DJ was imported from Germany in the spring of 2017 and has been in training with a professional since he was imported. He is currently schooling first level and ready to start his show career. Even though he is rising 5, he is very balanced and coordinated for his age. In this way, he rides more like a 6 year old. He has had ground work training and is obedient with yielding to pressure, lunging and long-lining. He is fine to ride with other horses in the arena and around normal farm activities, like tractors and water trucks. He is also no problem to be ridden alone. And regarding turnouts and pasture time, he is fine to be turned out alongside other horses or out alone, as he does not seem to be herd bound.

DJ is a lovely type and will make a wonderful partner. He is an absolute love bug, sweet as can be with no vices. He is very attentive to his handler, in fact he would rather hang out with you than eat his hay if you are nearby. His is fine in the crossties alone or with other horses. He loves to be curried and brushed. He is no problem in the wash stall, even letting you wash his face. He loads and trailers nicely, clips and vacuums. He is quiet in his stall and overall, very easy and sweet in the barn. He has become a barn favorite.

DJ is up to date on his vaccinations, including tetanus, West Nile, EW encephalitis and flu rhino. In October, he has had his wolf teeth extracted and his teeth floated.

His sire, Don Juan de Hus (KWPN Jazz x Crack C), won his 30- day Stallion Performance Testing in Schlieckau with the best final dressage score of 9.25. In 2012, he won the French Young Horse Champion in Saumur with a 93.639%, where he scored 10 for his trot and 9.8 for his canter in the final test. Don Juan de Hus placed sixth in the finals for the 2013 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany. While Don Juan was trained to Grand Prix, he unfortunately never made his Grand Prix debut as he died unexpectedly in August 2017. He already has 14 licensed sons, two of which sold at auction for 620,000 euros each. And in August, 2017 Don Juan de Hus’ son Don Martillo won the World Young Horse Championships for 5 year olds. The judges gave the young stallion high marks, including 9.7 for trot, 10 for walk, 9.7 for canter, 9.5 for submission and 9.8 for general impression.

Lanciano is a sire for all purposes and one of the most widely used in Europe. He passes on brilliant movement and his steadfast reliability. He was reserve champion of the Stallion Performance Test and received an overall score of 137.79 with a dressage score of 140.25. He has sired more than 30 licensed sons and produces consistent quality and fidelity. Lanciano has produced both dressage and jumping offspring, most notably Lord Sinclair. Lanciano’s offspring also fetched top dollars at auctions.

Fidermark is a confirmed Grand Prix stallion who won his 100 day Stallion Performance Test with a score of 141.74 points. In 1996, Fidermark won the Bundeschampionate in the 4 year-old stallion division. He produced 21 licensed sons, most notably Furst Piccolo.
