LUCERO'S sire, ROUSSEAU, was sired by the Olympic medal winning Dutch sensation OLYMPIC FERRO. ROUSSEAU was named the Champion dressage stallion of his KWPN performance test in 2001. As a 4 year old in 2002, he won the prestigious Pavo Cup in the Netherlands, and went on to be named Reserve Champion the following year. In 2003, as a 5 year old, ROUSSEAU was the Silver medalist of the 2003 FEI World Championships for Young Horses in Verden, Germany. It was clear from the beginning of ROUSSEAU'S breeding career that he would leave an indelible mark on the Dutch breed. No stallion before him had produced two consecutive Champions of the KWPN Stallion licensing, yet he sired not just two, but three consecutive Champions: WAMBERTO IN 2006, BLUE HORS ZACK in 2007 and AMPERE in 2008. These sons and now theirs are passing on ROUSSEAU'S rare combination of talent, athleticism and sensibility along with his prepotency for producing suppleness, self-carriage and a powerful hind leg. ROUSSEAU'S offspring are noted for their exceptional character, rideability and trainability.
LUCERO'S dam - Although the royally bred LADY KAYE, was a "family horse' she turned heads along with a very young Junior Rider and was named California Dressage Society, Los Angeles Chapter High Point Champion and Lower Level Jr. Young Rider Reserve Champion High Point for 2007. LADY KAYE'S paternal grandsire, LANDADEL, was regarded as the most important son of the 130 licensed sons of the immortal LANDGRAF, considered by horsemen around the world to be the sport horse stallion of the century. Much has been written about LADY KAYE'S paternal grand dam, FUREIDA II Elite. FUREIDA II is royally bred being by GODEHARD, the most successful son of that pinnacle of Hanoverian jumping breeding, GOTTHARD and out of FUREIDA by the celebrated FURIOSO (this of course is exactly the breeding of VOLTAIRE, except he was by FURIOSO out of a GOTTHARD mare). FUREIDA produced 4 licensed sons and single handidly turned Gerd Sosath's 100 hectacre property into one of Oldenburg's premiere horse operations. LADY KAYE'S successful dam line goes back 100 succesive years of KWPN Dutch performance bred mares.
