Sjaman is by For Romance x Rhodium (by Ferro) x Jazz x Doruto x Heidelberg x Amor and out of the same damline as World Champion Kjento, KWPN premium stallion Mowgli VOD and Danish approved stallion Lance VOD (acquired by Helgstrand).

His mother Anouk O is full sister to Grand Prix horse Zaragoza. His father For Romance is a top sire who produced unnumerable licensed stallions and high performing dressage horses. He doesn't only pass on his top gaits and beautiful neckline but also the best character. He's ridden by Swedish Olympic dressage rider Therese Nilshagen. "For Romance is the epitome of a model sire. Blessed with three excellent gaits, his canter and trot are exceptional, and his character is also remarkable. He stood out brilliantly in a strong lot of stallions at the 2011 Oldenburg licensing, and the enthusiastic spectators in Vechta gave him standing ovations. In 2019, the champion stallion, main premium winner, Bundeschampionat qualifier and Burg-Cup finalist was honoured for this as VTV Dressage Stallion of the Year."
