Violet is a gorgeous solid chocolate brown filly born April 7th, 2022 at a boutique breeding farm in Central Texas. She is by the lovely black Thoroughbred stallion Copy Cat Creek, who stands in Canada. He has competed through Preliminary level eventing and 1.3 meter jumpers. His first foals are 2020 models.
Violet's dam is DKH Estrelita, an approved Irish Draught Sporthorse mare. Although she never competed due to an injury early in life, she has lovely conformation, size and movement in a traditionally bred 50/50 cross of Irish draught and Thoroughbred making Violet the 75% blood type desired for upper level eventing and jumping.
Violet is very correct in her conformation with balanced gaits, including floaty trot extensions that would also allow her to excel in the dressage ring.
Violet has been handled extensively and been working in hand since she was a foal. She stands for grooming, regular trimming and vet care without issue. She is just starting to tie and cross tie. She is currently worked in hand and on the lunge 2-3 times a week. She lives mostly out, but is also comfortable in a stall.
Violet is a quick study, but can have an edge of aloofness with someone/something new. She responds best to a calm/quiet approach. She has blossomed with the bits of work thus far and is headed to her first horse show in April 2023.
Violet has a half sister by a different Thoroughbred stallion who did well in the USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) Series in 2022 as a yearling and another filly by the same stallion out of a different IDSH mare is under saddle for eventing and showing great promise.
Violet is expected to be 16+ hands as her dam is 16.2 and the sire is 17.3.
