Kinder is a 10 Year old medium (13.2HH) Welsh cross Sport Pony who loves to jump.
He is a sweet boy who happily goes W/T/C, auto lead changes and jumps anything and everything in front of him easily up to 3ft with a massive step for a medium. He hacks, trailers, ties, baths, has excellent ground work on him and is great for the vet and farrier. He really enjoys his routine, loves being outside (could live in or out) and is quite dominant in the paddock for a little guy - he has a big personality.
He would make an excellent school pony in a program where a more advanced rider can hop on him for a tune up every once in a while, no nasty habits just some pony-tude every once in a while.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced project to compete with then he may or may not be suitable because he does come with a catch (for anyone looking for a show pony) He has horse show/ring anxiety - he can school off property fine but the minute he has to go into a show ring by himself he becomes very anxious and resistant to even enter the ring, backs up, refuses to move, crow hops and head tosses. Once in the ring by himself, it is then difficult to focus him as he is too busy being anxious about being alone in the ring.
He is fine schooling off property as long as there is one horse in the ring with him, he is fine at home in the ring by himself or when we trailer him out for his winter stabling, he is fine in that ring by himself.
This herd-bound anxiety could be something a savvy rider works through, however with Covid the last 2 summers we have had limited ability to work on this at competitions. Any possible medical issues that could be contributing to this behavior have also been looked at and it has been determined to be behavioral.
