GFS Lord of the Dance x GFS Golden Willow (Vangellis x Farney Clover/Errigl Flight)
GFS Millie Vanilli is GFS Lord of the Dance’s second foal and is half sister to GFS Mikado. She has an outstanding conformation, beautiful cremello coloring, and demonstrates a quick mind, exceptional temperament, and relaxed nature, yet when she turns it on, she really turns it on! She’s a true athlete with impressive movement, a born galloper, who is sure footed and balanced, has an outstanding walk, trot and canter, is built for speed and has a mind set that is calm yet focused and the power and strength that will enable her to excel in any of the top three disciplines of eventing, showjumping, or dressage, or even endurance. Millie enjoys the company of people and is friendly and sociable.
Millie’s dam is GFS Golden Willow is a conformationally correct and gorgeous mare by an extremely talented Kinsky Warmblood jumping stallion, Vangelis. Unfortunately, he had an early death and a brief competition career of only six months. During that time, he jumped double clear every time from a starting point of 1.10m and swiftly reached 1.30 m, which is a rare talent, and accumulated 92 points. Golden Willow has a huge powerful conformation, a strong well angled shoulder, has well-muscled hindquarters, is short coupled, and has an impressive turn of foot. Millie Vanilli also received these same qualities from her dam. Willow’s dam sire is Farney Clover who in turn is by Clover Hill, a legendary sire whose offspring obtained astronomical success with over 90 showjumpers of note. Willow’s dam’s dam sire is Errigal Flight, as a successful sire of both showjumpers and eventers. His sire was the one and only King of Diamonds, a famous Irish competition stallion.
GFS Millie Vanilli has a unique pedigree just like her half siblings, GFS Mikado and GFS Chiquitita. She gets the high percentage of Russian Trakehner, Akhal Teke and Thoroughbred from her sire, GFS Lord of the Dance, aka Django, who was licensed as a 2-year-old and his sire, Destello, an Estonian imported stallion, which was unique to British breeding. Django’s dam, Malibu Breeze, has also produce two other licensed stallions and is considered a rarity because she is a double dilute warmblood that has the power and grace of her Thoroughbred heritage and the body and bone of the German ancestry.
Her sire was Malibu Galileo, a 17 hand Hanoverian eventing stallion who unfortunately passed away young due to a covering accident. Malibu Galileo was sired by Gymnast, a prominent dressage stallion, and his sire was Grenadier, a very important sire whose offspring excelled in dressage. Malibu Galileo’s dam was Delta, who in 1993 became the Supreme Champion at the British Warmblood Show after winning many hunter classes at the county level. Her sire, Atlantus produced many highly graded offspring and international competition horses. Atlantus was a foundation sire for the British Warmblood Society Studbook.
Malibu Breeze’s dam is Great Yeldham who’s sire’s side contains some amazing British, French, and American thoroughbreds including Blushing Scribe, Blushing Groom (he won the Prix Robert Papin, Prix Morny, Prix de la Salamandre, and Grand Critérium and was named the French Champion Two-year-old), Red God (won the Richmond Stakes and Roseben Handicap at Belmont Park), Nasrullah (who won the Coventry Stakes and the Champion Stakes), and Nearco, one of the most important stallions of the 20th century who was an undefeated Italian racehorse. Her dam side is just as impressive and contains Super Concorde (the highest-rated two-year-old in France in 1977 who won the Prix de Cabourg, Prix Morny and the Grand Criterium), Bold Reasoning (winner of the Withers Stakes in 1971 and the sire to Triple Crown Winner Seattle Slew), Boldnesian (Santa Anita Derby winner in 1966) Primera, My Babu (a French-bred Thoroughbred racehorse who became one of the most influential sires in American breeding of show jumpers, eventers and hunters) and Hail to Reason (1960 American Champion Two-Year-Old Colt).
GFS Millie Vanilli carries the exceptional traits of the Kinsky Warmblood the Irish Sporthorse as well as the Russian Trakehner, Akhal Teke and Thoroughbred, all of which are noted for the athleticism, incredible temperaments, willingness under saddle and powerful performance ability.
