11 year old 16.2h Elite Mare Candidate
SORAYA’s talent for dressage is outstanding; proven by winning the Canadian Third Level Gold Championship. She is now training all the small tour movements and according to her trainer Janine Little, nominated to the Canadian Development Dressage Team, Soraya is showing all the promise of her breeding towards becoming a Grand Prix horse.
With the same breeding as the stallion Salvino, Soraya resembles him in her way of going. Salvino was the winner of the 2019 CDI5* and 2020 CDI4* Grand Prix Specials at Wellington, as well as the GP freestyle at Aachan with a score of 83.56% (February 17, 2020).
Their sire, Sandro Hit, is the world’s #2 dressage sire (WBFSH 2018). Donnerhall, the dam’s sire, is the founder of the famous “D” line of dressage horses included De Niro, the #1 world dressage sire.
Soraya's dam, the Elite Mare Denebola, was Eastern Canadian Hanoverian Champion, featured in the October 2000 Hanoverian Verband magazine as “Quality with the Maple Leaf”. Denebola’s 1/2 sister (same dam) was on the 2007 Canadian Silver Medal Pan Am dressage team. Besides Soraya, Denebola produced the stallion Totem, who won the FEI Open 5, 6 and 7 year old classes with marks in the mid 70s at the Adequan Dressage Festivals, Wellington. As a 7 year old he won the $50,000 Omaha International Team Challenge and PSG CDI 3* at Wellington, getting over 70%. He is now showing I-II with the same high marks.
Soraya is home bred and has been professionally ridden throughout her show career. She has no vices and never any lameness issues. X-rays are available. She loves to show and hack and has lots of character. Soraya is suitable for a competent amateur or professional to move up through the levels.
