Introducing Arpeggio M, known around the barn as Archie. He is an incredibly handsome and personable colt, born 7 April 2023 at Maefield Farm. The influence of his sire, Apiro, certainly shows in this elegant colt. We expect Archie to be a tall, elegant hunter like his sire. He’s already showing the long, low, floating trot of a top hunter. With a sculpted head and lovely eye, Arpeggio Is destined to become a real head-turner.
Arpeggio M is registered with the American Hanoverian Society and has his microchip and lifetime USEF registration. We expect this handsome fellow to mature at 16.2 or more.
Like all Maefield youngsters, this gem is being handled daily and raised in an environment that builds character, confidence, and athleticism. Archie is being trained in age-appropriate groundwork at present.
Sire:
Son of the legendary Argentinus, imported 16.3 h Bavarian WB stallion Apiro has earned a lauded place in North American breeding circles. Apiro has been a top producer of hunters, a discipline in which he excelled. While Apiro is quiet-minded, he is also a brilliant performer—one of those horses who knows his job and performs it with a flourish. Incredibly handsome and talented, Apiro is known for the “stamp” of correct conformation and easy movement he imparts to his offspring.
Dam:
Dulcinea GKF (Depardieu – Wolkenstein II) is a black main-mare book Hanoverian at Maefield Farm. She competed for a time as a hunter and has an excellent jump and lovely gaits. Although her sire, Depardieu, is best known as a dressage competitor, he scored 8.3 for both jumping and dressage in his stallion performance test and has sired successful offspring in both disciplines. He has fabulous conformation and movement, following in the hoofprints of his legendary sire, De Niro. Dulcinea’s damsire, Wolkenstein II, is often described as the best son of another legendary stallion—Weltmeyer. Wolkenstein II was reserve champion of his stallion licensing, placing 2nd in dressage and 7th in jumping among 41 competitors. The successful combination of De Niro and Wolkenstein II is evident in the 2016 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year, Desperados FRH, who won team gold and individual bronze in the Rio Olympics dressage competition.
