SOLD! Onyx is a truly gorgeous, VERY fancy, shiny pitch black branded Zweibrucker mare. Photos cannot capture how insanely pretty this mare is! She has one of the best heads ever seen on a horse - a lovely dished face with huge, expressive eyes and small ears, a refined elegant throat and voluptuous neck and pleasingly round topline. No one can escape her charming gravitational pull and she stands out in a crowd to stay the least! Onyx stands a bit over 16h though is tremendously large bodied and can easily accomodate a leggy rider.

Aside from being one of the prettiest horses to grace the earth, she is also fun and easy to ride! She is a great mover and has a stylish jump as well. As a youngster she showed on the line very successfully (2nd at Upperville!) as you would expect given her fantastic looks and exceptional conformation, and she also has miles in the Baby and Pre-Greens at local and rated shows. She is brave to the jumps and also has a lead change. Onyx goes happily on a loose rein in a rubber dogbone snaffle which is barely a bit at all, and also goes on trail rides and so forth in this same bit. She is lightly schooled in basic dressage principles and will come on the bit softly as well and is supple and obedient. She is trustworthy and honest with no funny business. Onyx does prefer a soft, quiet and patient/kind rider like most mares, but has no marish attitude under saddle. She will make an excellent Childrens/Adult horse and is quiet and uncomplicated enough for a junior or ammy to finish.

Onyx has no vices and is good around the barn, for clipping, bathing, shipping, etc. Due to our very cold, harsh winter, we were unable to do much riding, so Onyx is not fully fit at this time and only in very light work. Therefore we have priced her VERY conservatively to allow for this, and her price WILL increase substantially once she is back in condition and goes back in the show ring in the next few weeks.
