Sweet boy directly from breeder

Amos is a very sweet horse that is looking for his forever person. He really looks to his rider for confidence so his new owner should be a quiet, sensitive rider, but he is very manageable for an average amateur rider if you have the right personality! Personality seems to be the #1 criteria for this boy. He is a shy horse, but once he trusts you, he is YOUR horse through and through. Amos is comfortable being ridden outdoors and indoors and has traveled to different facilities but has not yet been shown. He has a beautiful light contact and is very simple, straightforward horse to ride, with a fabulous work ethic. He really tries his best everyday. He is solid at Training Level and starting First Level movements. His training is slightly behind due to a severe laceration on the front of his right hind fetlock that required time off as a 5-6 year old. He has been in consistent work for the past year, and is ready for his new owner.

Amos has no vices, and is easy to handle on the ground. He is happy to be in the barn by himself or with others. He ties, loads, baths and is good for the farrier. As he is a sensitive horse, his living situation does need to be monitored. He lives with mares/and or geldings in turnout with no problems, but is the bottom of the pack and easily driven away from food. We have treated him for ulcers in the past, and currently manage him as an "ulcer prone" horse. He has free choice hay at all times, including some alfalfa hay, and enjoys 24 hour turnout during the summer months. He is not on any ulcer medication at this time, but we feel his potential new owner should be aware that he requires a well monitored feeding and turnout program. This boy is likely best suited to a small boarding stable or private facility.

Amos has been in a professional program for his whole riding career and will continue in a program until he finds his new "person". He thrives on attention and is happy to work as many days as a week as you want! Lovely horse for the right person and the right program. Serious inquiries only please.
