Seneca Ridge is a warmblood horse breeding and training farm, located in Central Florida, northwest of Orlando. Owners Nancy and Todd Shaw have established Seneca Ridge to combine their practical and ethical business approach with Nancy’s lifetime of horse experience. Their goal is to produce the most athletic, willing, and talented young horses that will stand out in competition and delight their owners. Seneca Ridge has an exceptional mare band of top stud book mares, utilizing primarily Trakehner lines. The only mares that are bred exemplify the type of horse that they are trying to produce. Sires are carefully chosen to complement the mares, most often utilizing frozen semen from Germany. The foals are raised with 24-hour turn out, at correct weight, and with professional farrier care. This individualized attention assists in proper development and long-term soundness. The health and nutrition of the mares is equally important. Seneca Ridge broodmares are proven under saddle and it is not uncommon to see them at the top Florida rated shows. It is important to know and understand the mares as performance horses to identify the perfect match for them. This also aids in providing the best, most tailored training for their offspring.
