Violet (registered name “Apocalypse”) is the result of an exceptional combination of bloodlines for the modern sport horse and will be a top asset to any breeding or sport program. Fully registered with the American Holsteiner Horse Association, her sire is famous German Holsteiner jumping stallion Quinar (Quidam de Revel / Jalisco B / Aloube Z,) who is the sire of at least five world champion jumpers, including Quik Nick who sold for $400000 EUs and Quinthago who won the FEI world championships for young horses in 2009. She is out of an AHHA approved TB mare entered in the Main Mare Stud Book with bonits of 6666776. Violet’s dam competed extensively in both the Junior and Amateur Owner jumpers until a career ending injury in 2005. On the damline, Violet descends from Sicambre and Abernant, both influential TB sires in the breeding of modern warmbloods.
Sicambre appears as a foundation sire in numerous high-level jumping and dressage warmbloods including Sacromento Song, Sandro Hit, Shutterfly, Stedinger, etc. Abernant is a great thoroughbred sire of grand prix jumpers and top level eventers including Aberali (ridden by USET member Kathy Kusner, in 1967 Aberali won both the Ladies European Championship in Fontainbleau and the Puissance at Aachen), Abgar (whose KWPN sons included top show jumper and sire Ommen; Volkmar, a leading sire of FEI dressage horses; Pion, an international show jumper and sire of six approved KWPN sons and of the show jumper Boomerrang), and Aberconway, who sired New Zealand-bred Aberlou, one of the most successful sires of event horses in the world, whose offspring include the world champion and Olympic medalist Messiah, the top three-day mare Delta (second at Badminton and Burghley), and many other eventers and show jumpers. Abernant's sire, Owen Tudor, was also influential in sport horse pedigrees -- the famous Dutch jumping stallion Lucky Boy and the influential dressage sire Laurie’s Crusader.
Violet currently stands about 15.1 and is a fairly petite mare. She is a correct, modern filly with great uphill build and movement and lots of suspension. Stands well for farrier and vet and loads easily.
