Arlo (Ampere x Disconto) is a true FEI prospect in the making. He has the most incredible hind leg, and his gaits continue to get more expressive as he gets stronger. He is currently schooling all second level movements, and has an exceptional talent for lateral work. In 2022 he placed 6th overall at Devon in the FEI 4YO test, and in 2023 he placed 5th overall in the USDF East Coast Breeders Championship out of a large, competitive field. He is very sweet and personable, and is being offered for your consideration at no fault of his own. He is an easy keeper and settles into new places quickly. He enjoys turn out and is currently on a full rotation with 2 other geldings. He is good for the farrier, vet, bathing, clipping, etc. Arlo has no vices and a full set of clean x-rays on file that include neck and back. He is best suited for a confident rider who has the ability and fitness to ride powerful gaits. Arlo is not hot or strong in the bridle, but is a forward thinking type that is smart and sensitive in all the right ways.

Arlo is by Ampere who needs no introduction as he was one of Sweden’s most popular dressage stallions before imported to the USA in 2017. Arlo’s dam sire Disconto was bred by Hengstation Schult and served as both a popular dressage and jumper sire in both Germany and The Netherlands before being imported to the USA in 2007. Disconto’s sire Diamantino was Korsieger in Munster and won his stallion performance test in Warendorf. Disconto is out of the States Premium mare Fruhlingssonne, who is the granddam of Fidertanz. Ampere has a successful career as a sport horse sire producing numerous off spring who are now making their way to the top.

Arlo was shown locally in hand as a two year old. He was started on the ground spring of his three year old year, and was only under saddle for 30 days prior to Dressage at Devon 2021. Dressage at Devon 2021 was his first horse show under saddle. He was incredibly competitive in all of his classes, foreshadowing a bright future to come.
He was given his three year old winter and four year old winter off from training and showing to allow for growth, as he was quite croup high throughout both of those years. He spent some of that time hacking around the farm gaining confidence and strength from varied terrain.
Arlo's four year old year was quite successful making the leader board as USDF All Breed Champion in Training Level and USDF Reserve Champion in Materiale reaching scores through the high 70's. He also attended the USDF East Coast Breeder's Championship and placed 5th over all in the 4 YO Sport Horse Prospect class at Dressage at Devon 2022. He exceeded our expectations and also made the victory gallop around the Dixon Oval, placing 6th and 7th in a very large, competitive USEF FEI 4 YO test at Dressage at Devon.
