Athena is a registered (red preferred) American Warmblood filly.
She was born on 20 May 2008. Her sire was a registered paint called SPORTS COUPE and her dam was a Quarter Horse x Thoroughbred x Percheron.
Athena is a beautiful blue roan with an even star/stripe and socks. She has the most wonderful temperament and attitude. As gentle as can be, extremely intelligent and affectionate. She has never gone to bite or kick anybody. She loves to jump our small 4’ high pasture fence just for fun - she will go back and forth from her pasture, into the next pasture, and back again. She also really enjoys splashing around in our pond.
She is as desensitized as can be as far as what we can expose her too! She loads easily in the trailer, she stands quietly for x-ties, vet, farrier, grooming, bathing, tacking up, blanketing, wrapping legs etc. She is not easily spooked and is fine around dogs, heavy machinery, blowers, atvs, vehicles. She is also very easy to catch - she will come to greet you at the fence. She is wonderfully curious and loves attention. She really enjoys learning and eagerly awaits schooling/training/snuggle time!!
Athena will, in my opinion, be the ultimate sport horse/trail horse/best friend for a lady, adult amateur, less confident rider in the future. The combination of her incredibly sweet and gentle temperament, her “can-do” attitude, her obvious enjoyment of learning and her boldness, intelligence and curiosity combine to make her a very special horse.
She is substantial in bone, but I imagine she will mature around 15.2hh. Regrettably, as I am 5’11” tall - she is just a little too short for me. I am a dressage rider and although she is a cute little mover, I would not anticipate her ever reaching more than 3rd Level .. Her heart appears to be in jumping and I imagine she would be really fun in eventing, cross-country, foxhunting, jumping or dressage (for those not wishing to attain FEI on her!).
Her video shows her movement on the lunge - and it also shows me backing her for the first time. I did not even need a ground handler. You will see she is totally relaxed, trusting, happy and patient. She is possibly the easiest horse I have had the pleasure to work with. She is now lightly trotting under saddle.

It is a very, very reluctant sale - but I have 4 other serious FEI prospects that I am working with that are all taller. Athena is such a jewel that I believe she will be an incredible emotional and financial investment for some very lucky person. She is that level-headed, kind and willing warm blood that has all the elements to make her a fantastic, lifelong equine partner for somebody who wants to compete on, trail with and love for many, many years to come.
This precious girl is up to date with all of her vaccinations, negative coggins, wormer and farrier. Open to any vet!
Sorry, no trades!
Due to the current economy, Athena is priced to sell at only $4,000 to a great home that will appreciate and enjoy this super filly for many years to come.
