Olivi x Olympic Lancet x Doruto - Dressage Diva!

2005 KWPN mare: Olivi (Jazz) x Olympic Lancet x Doruto x Amor.

Dressage powerhouse! Avelina’s movement illustrates what this type of breeding can create. She is a fluid mover with a great walk, lofty suspension at the trot and a round rhythmic canter. All this with loads of presence and charisma. Beautiful head, uphill neck and very strong topline, great hind end, good feet and legs. Easy to work with and loves people. Avelina had a Flemmingh colt last year that sold within days of being born and the new owner is ecstatic about him…we had tons of inquires on him. Avelina was very easy to breed frozen. We have decided to put Avelina under saddle this year after having a foal and let her talents shine. She is being started now. She stands 15.3hh but we think she may gain a bit more height yet as her dam and sire are just shy of 17hh. Here are 2 videos of her with her Flemmingh colt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwrUAwf9SNk&feature=channel / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IItxq9sYdiU&feature=channel

Sire Olivi is a Jazz son and also the sire of Iron Spring Farms' UB40. Olivi, was the Reserve Champion of his Championship Keuring for Dressage horses at the KWPN stallion show in 1998. Olivi is by Jazz, 2006 KWPN Horse of the Year. Currently he competes at Grand Prix under Tineke Bartels. Jazz is by the great Olympic Cocktail, a dressage stallion with exceptional talent, who was competed by Anky van Grunsven at Grand Prix level. He won several Grand Prix, Grand Prix Specials, Musical Kurs and World Cup Qualifiers. Olivi’s dam is Halla Utopia by Aktion. The popular white stallion Aktion is known for his rideability and achieved much success with the Hungarian Gyuala Dallos.

Avelina comes from a very strong damline. Her imported dam is by Olympic Lancet. In 2008 the Olympic dream came true: Lancet and Emma Hindle flew the flag for British at the Olympic Games in Hong Kong and rounded off their joint career to date placing seventh individually. In 2004 Lancet already participated in the Olympic Games in Athens: with his former rider Imke Schellekens-Bartels he competed for the Netherlands and came eleventh in the individual and fourth in the team placing. From a breeder’s point of view, Lancet provides best Hanoverian bloodlines in all ways. The combination of Wenzel I - Shogun xx already speaks for itself (stallions Wanninger, Wellenbrecher, among others). This is rounded off by the excellent damline which created the stallions Argentan I and II (full brothers of Lancet’s grandmother Anika! ), the DLG winning mare Goldlady as well as her grandsons Frenchman I and II.

And then there is Doruto......... Having Doruto this close up in a pedigree is becoming more and more difficult to find. Doruto is considered to be one of the most influential dressage sires of all time. Gert van der Veen described Doruto offspring in an article for a Dutch magazine. "The Doruto offspring have such a character. Even though they are not duds, they allow themselves to be worked- they do not oppose to the input of the rider. One of the essential traits for a dressage horse is that he must be able to easily handle the physical demands of the sport... They are very trainable. They allow themselves, some a little earlier than others, to become gymnasts. They don't break down mentally and they stay happy." Some of the notable international Doruto offspring from the 1980s and 1990s include Ideaal (ridden by Jo Hinneman, trainer of Olympic Ferro, to numerous German, European and World Championships), Olympic Barbria (1996 Team Silver Medal at the Olympics), Urion, (ridden by Nadine Capellmann, World Champion) and Heruto (Grand Prix horse under Coby van Baalen).

Avelina is a true product of her royal dressage breeding. We rarely offer our mares for sale. She is only being offered for sale because we are expecting our 'own' 3rd baby and really need to reduce our mares. She is young and ready to start her career or continue producing fantastic babies!
