Bella Luna is a powerful 2006 KWPN mare sired by the stallion Ikoon out of the Wolfgang mare Uganda M.

An impressive and accomplished young mare, Bella started her winning streak on the line as a two year old at the Royal in Toronto. In 2009, as a three year old, Bella placed 3rd overall in the Iron Spring Cup for Young Jumpers during the KWNP tour of North America. The KWPN Iron Spring Farm Cup for Young Jumpers is sponsored by Iron Spring Farm and is in part patterned after the Ian Trophy classes for young horses in Holland. Horses are evaluated on gaits, reflexes, technique, scope, attitude, ride-ability and willingness. The class is open to both jumper and hunter horses.

Now showing over fences, Bella's 2nd show season has been an unqualified success. Equally talented as a hunter and jumper prospect, she has been champion on both the Trillium and A Circuits in Ontario and Quebec. At the three A shows she competed in this summer, she was Reserve Champion Baby Green hunter out of 20 horses, and at her most recent show at the Ottawa Classic she tied for Champion in the 1 m Jumper Division out of 30 horses.

Bella is a very bold and powerful mare over jumps, and she is
an exceptional athlete. She has excellent technique, and displays willingness and carefulness over the jumps. She is an uncomplicated horse, with a very good brain, and quiet disposition.

Bella Luna is wonderful to watch. She has three flowing gaits, a lovely expression, and glides across the ground in a naturally soft frame. Her presence is beautiful and regal, and she will stand out as the winner anywhere. Bella is a confident jumper and has shown herself to be brave, dependable and honest to the fences. She has great jumping form, a textbook front end, and plenty of scope for the Working Hunters and Derbies. Bella is quiet and rhythmical; she approaches and leaves the jump at the same soft and steady pace. She has easy lead changes, a large step, and natural balance. She is soft in the bridle and very easy to adjust between fences. Bella Luna is still a young horse, but shows all the makings of an exceptional hunter or jumper prospect.

Bella is kind, attentive, and very eager to please. She is easy to work with and highly unlikely to misbehave. Her ideal home includes daily turnout and quality professional guidance to make the most of her exceptional talent.
