Bon Voyage is a striking young horse with exceptional gaits and a heart of gold. In spite of being extremely showy with loads of presence, he's calm, quiet, and sensible in hand and under saddle. He's nicely forward, very responsive, and a joy to ride and train. Bon Voyage has ideal conformation, with a beautiful head and neck, a strong, supple back, and a powerful hindquarter. He was named top colt at his Hanoverian inspection.
His training started with ground work, line-driving, and desensitization exercises when he was a late two-year-old, and he was backed in the spring of his third year. He's now going nicely walk, trot and canter, and he's ready to start more serious work as a four-year-old. He's very focused on his work in the arena, and he enjoys hacking alone and with another horse.
Bon Voyage is healthy and sound, with no history of illness, lameness, colic or vices. He has great legs and feet, and he's worked without shoes to date. His x-rays, taken when he was a two-year-old, were perfectly clean.
Bonnie has been handled and/or worked daily since the age of two, and he has an excellent work ethic. He's happy inside his stall or turned out a ten-acre pasture with two or three buddies, where he's usually second in command.
Bonnie is always a gentleman; he's never bucked or had any bad behaviors, even when he was first backed. He stands quietly in the cross ties, for the vet and farrier, and he's a one-person loader. He's affectionate and curious, and he loves attention without being pushy.
Bonnie is still growing, and will likely mature at 16.3 hh.
Bon Voyage is an exceptional horse, and he's ready to join his new partner on a fun and successful journey.
