Brigadier TSH "Riggs" is a 2019 Oldenburg Gelding originally bred by Timeless Sport Horses in Texas. His bloodlines are impeccable, featuring the 'B' line of sport horses including Banderas and Balou du Rouet. His dam was also pretty fantastic, competing up to 1.35 with Richard Spooner. Riggs currently resides in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Riggs is well loved by his Amateur rider, and he has a good show record for such a young guy. Highlights from 2024 include being Champion of the Baby Greens at Rocky Mountain Showjumping and he's also been to Del Mar, California, where he did both the hunters (2'6 and 2'9) and the Jumpers (0.75m) in the Seaside Equestrian Tour. He's also been to Spruce Meadows (0.75 Jumpers) and Thunderbird in British Columbia. Riggs is consistently in the Ribbons and his fluid gaits serve him well in both jumping and under saddle classes. Since 2023, Riggs has been in professional training under a High Performance Coach, but is still consistently ridden by his Owner. He's nailing his flying changes and is ready to move up to the bigger heights. In 2025 he is 1st year Pre-green eligible, and he's headed to WEC Ocala at the end of January. While his owner prefers the hunters, Riggs would be happy as an Eq or Derby horse, but he could also do the jumpers, making him the ideal all-rounder. As you can see in the photos, Riggs is certainly able to jump big fences!
Recently of note, Riggs was chosen to be a demo horse for the Jump Alberta Symposium in Edmonton. The Clinician, Carlton Brooks (Balmoral Farms), hopped on him and with no prep (and while still holding his ball cap) and took Riggs around a 1.1m course. Riggs rose to the challenge and cleared the fences with ease.
As Riggs' owner prefers young horses, it's time for Riggs to find a new home with a rider who wants to do the bigger fences. He's a superstar in the making and with his flaxen mane and tail and tons of chrome, he's the beauty everyone is watching.
