KVS Sport Horses breeds Dutch warmblood horses from approved KWPN stallions and mares. We offer young quality jumpers and hunters for amateur and professional riders, and focus on KWPN breeding values: sport performance, conformation, movement and health. Our small scale operation (3-6 foals/year) allows us time and attention with every horse we breed, starting with imprinting at birth, and we raise our horses with a balance of pasture time, gentle handling, and formal training. Our original dam stock was imported from the Netherlands by Arie Koppe DVM, the owner and principle of KVS, and includes bloodlines from internationally recognized stallions Berlin, Contender, Nimmerdor, Heartbreaker, and Crusador. Our brood mares now include second and third generation dams from top stallions such as Cavalier (San Patrignano Mister) and Phin Phin, and our 2019 foals include several Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve and Phin Phin offspring. KVS is located two hours south of Calgary, Alberta. Our training happens year-round, outdoors when weather permits, and in our indoor arena during Alberta's cold winter. Training under saddle starts at 3 years of age, progresses slowly and carefully, and includes off-farm clinics and (for horses 4 years of age and above) show experience.
