I have retired from breeding and will soon be selling the farm so this stunning boy is now for sale to an approved home.
Caetano is sired by the sooty buckskin Lusitano stallion Tufao Interagro (Brazil) out of the imported (Brazil) buckskin Lusitano mare Xarola do Vouga. Both parents are 16.1 hands, Caetano is 15.3 Registered with IALHA. AND also revised as a breeding stallion with APSL!
With lovely movement, extension, long neck and legs, short back and that long sought double dilute color (e/e, A/a, Cr/Cr) - he will only throw buckskin, palomino and smoky black when bred to non-gray mares. Caetano has been color tested and does NOT carry gray. Topping it all off, this stallion has shine like no other. Caetano is very self assured and bold stallion and nothing spooks him. He will stand eating while crop dusters fly 40' above his head. Under saddle he is actually quite lazy, and would be about a 2 on a scale of 1-10. I am NOT an accomplished or trained rider but I am riding him in the video. He thrives on a daily routine, and loves living in a paddock. Caetano is very respectful of electric fencing and even with mares living 12 feet across from him he doesn't worry or pace the fenceline. He trailers very nicely, is trained to collect on the phantom and has made some really beautiful foals with great dispositions. He has never been bred live cover as far as I know and I would probably recommend that any new owner breed by AI only. Caetano can be a bit tough (stallion behavior) on the ground so I don't recommend him for someone who has not had experience handling stallions. Using a chain just over his nose is usually sufficient but you do need to be firm and always vigilant. Caetano has never been ill or injured the last 6 years since I have had him and I am unaware of any illness or injury prior to me acquiring him.
Caetano is a very intelligent and personable horse, on the ground he can be pushy at times and needs to be reminded who is boss. He also has the Lusitano sensitivity in that he doesn't take being manhandled. Caetano is a bit mouthy and even though he is super athletic and comfy to ride I don't think he is suitable for competitive dressage because he developed a habit of sticking out his tongue at a previous owners as a stress reliever, and now it has become a habit. He will do this just standing out in his paddock, but he also does it under saddle. Caetano has very good feet and has been barefoot for the last 6 years that I have had him.
The youtube video is from clips taken in Sept/Oct 2018 so very up to date.
