Abner Dressage offers its most special horse to date. Califa is a 6 year old PRE gelding, 16.2 hands with a modern athletic build, unbeatable temperament, absolutely safe with a super work ethic. Califa has been showing Third level since December and scoring as high as 72+%. This incredible youngster just made his Fourth level debut at the Tryon Spring Dressage show, winning the Fourth 2 with a 64+%!
I bought him from his breeder as a yearling and have trained him entirely myself with the guidance of top coaches. He has never bucked, reared or bolted in his entire life, and is darn near bombproof. He has tons of show experience for his age and is an absolute pro in the show ring. In 2017 as a four-year-old in his first year of showing he won reserve Champion at the USDF Region 3 Championship in Wellington in the Training level Open division Championship. He was also the USPRE reserve champion horse of the year at training level Open with a 70% median for the year and a high score of 76+%. 2018 was his 5 year old year in which he won USPRE Champion horse of the year in the First level Open division with a 69+% median for the year and his high score for 2018 was a 77.5%. In 2018 he also won the Indiano XVIII Cup awarded by The Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse for being the highest scoring PRE in the US in Training thru Second level horses. This year he came out at Third level and we are playing with higher concepts. Half steps are well started and show super capacity to sit for a stellar piaffe in time. We play with 4&3 tempis out on the trail for fun (see video!). His lateral work is superb and easy as pie. This horse has it all, calm sensible temperament while not being at all lazy, he’s a real worker bee and sensitive to the aids without being over reactive and tense like many PRE’s can be. His conformation is excellent, health super, feet are perfection (he’s barefoot with no need for shoes as his feet are so nice and hard), movement is super quality and so smooth to sit, judges love him and his competition record is hard to beat at his age, especially for a PRE! Always been absolutely sound and no vices. Loving, sweetheart personality with great respect for his handler and impeccable ground manners. His sire Tronc II, and grandsire Goloso XLVI, are both Calificado (Qualified) sires. Calificado is a designation awarded to less than 1% of PREs in the world, given by the ANCCE for exceptional quality.
