Cardinals sire, Cosmeo, was licensed in Holstein in 2007 and went on to become the performance test champion scoring 866.5 points at the Danish 35-day test. In 2008, he was a licensing champion in Danish Warmblood. Cosmeo’s jumping abilities put him in a league of his own. Within his brief career he won the Danish championship twice for young horses. Cosmeo is out of a strong performance dam line, which has produced several international top sport horses. His offspring jump with superb technique and carefulness. Cosmeo had an exciting 2012 season on the international level. In 2013, Cosmeo and Jørgen Hallundbæk had several placings at Global Champions Tour and in 2014, Cosmeo had several placings in the 1.40m. Cosmeo started his hunter career in 2016 and had high placings from the Winter Equestrian Festival to the Kentucky Summer Horse Show. In his first International Hunter Derby at the 2016 Winter Equestrian Festival, Cosmeo finished 7th in the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby with Sydney Shulman. At the 2016 Old Salem Farm Spring II Show, Cosmeo was 2nd in the $10,000 International Hunter Derby. Following that at the 2016 Devon Horse Show, Cosmeo finished 5th in the $25,000 Devon International Hunter Derby. At the 2016 Kentucky Summer Horse Show Cosmeo was Grand Hunter Champion with Sydney Shulman. In the 2016 USHJA International Hunter Derby Finals, Cosmeo and Sydney Shulman finished ​14th overall, and 5th overall in Sec B and 7th in Sec B handy round.

At this point in time, Cardinal looks like he will excel as a top hunter/derby prospect, but he could truly go in any direction. Three quality gaits and jumps a perfect 10. Would be the perfect three ring horse for any lucky pro or amateur.
Cardinal clips, baths, ties and has been handled correctly since day one. Great for the farrier and vet, and trailers like an old pro. He has a fantastic brain and quiet demeanor without being dull. Cardinal lunges with tack and has had a rider sit on him with no issues. He is growing quite a bit at the moment (will finish at least 16.3hh), so at this time he is being allowed to grow without being fully backed as a 2 year old. He is a pleasure to have in the barn, easy keeper and wants to please.
