Cartier is the half sibling to the multiple breed show winner, Donatella CF. This stunning colt is an immediate eye-catcher. At his PA AHS Inspection, Dr. Ludwig Christmann from the Hanoverian Verband in Germany commented on how he has a lot of presence, a good topline, an uphill build and self-carriage. He also liked his neck and said he has a very good walk. Cartier was named top foal.

His sire, Contucci, is always at the top of the Dressage and Dressage Breeding sires lists. He sired USEF FEI Young Horse National Champions in 2006, 2007, & 2008 and the USEF Developing Horse National Champion in 2009. Contucci offspring typically show his beautiful type, engaging personality, and easy rideability.

His dam, Tiadora, is an Oldenburg mare in the AHS Main Studbook. At her Studbook inspection at Hilltop farm in 2009, judges praised her expressive movement, and gave her walk an '8.' Her sire, Tantris, is a proven Grand Prix competitor. He descends from one of the most important mare lines in Germany today. Tantris has sired offspring who successfully compete in Dressage, Hunters, and combined driving.

Cartier should mature on the taller side with a more substantial build, along with good bone. He has a bright future ahead of him in the Dressage arena.

In 2011, Cartier was shown in hand at Maplewood Warmbloods, Dressage at Stone Tavern, and Dressage at Devon.

In 2012, Cartier participated in the AHS Two-Year-Old Gelding Futurity. He was Champion, and received positive comments on his his beautiful topline (especially his neck), his very good shoulder, and his powerful movement.

After learning to lunge and long line in late October, Cartier was backed in early November. After just a few rides, he is already walking, trotting, and cantering off the lunge line. He has been very easy to work with, and is very kind and willing. Cartier is uphill, forward, and light. He has done poles, some hacking, and has been free jumped. He could be a young rider or amateur prospect, despite his age. He is currently worked lightly, 3 days per week. Price to increase with training.
