Cool Eyes Wonder “Cooper” is a 15.3h, Dun, 17yr old (2005) QH who loves dressage and trail riding but has done it all throughout his career. I bought him as a 5yr old back in 2010 and since then he has done hunters, jumpers, been a lesson horse on and off, and now finally dressage, which is where he excels and shines. This horse is my heart horse which is why this is so hard to do but I have to take into consideration what’s best for him in the long run. And he deserves one person to put him first. I have a breeding and training business so he doesn’t always get put first here and he is too special not to have his own person. In 2017 he made his dressage show debut at training level, winning mostly every class he entered in. Then within the next year/2 we moved him up to 1st level. The plan was to keep moving him up the ranks but then covid happened and those plans went on the back burner. In the interim he went back to being my trusted lesson horse. I can put anyone on him from 5-95 and know that he will take care of them. However I could see he wasn’t happy and last fall put him back in a full dressage program. He is most happy and goes best in a double bridle so we decided to skip 2nd level and move him up to 3rd. I was going to debut him at 3rd level in April but I’m moving across the country in June and don’t have the time to put into him right now. I’ve ponied horses off of him, gone swimming, trail riding, you name it, most likely he can do it. Except cows and goats, those are apparently too scary for him 🤣 now like every older show horse, he does need maintenance and I will make sure his new home understands this and agrees to it in a contract. You can give him a month off and this horse, mentally, will come out as if you rode him yesterday, even though he may not be as fit 🤣 • Cooper is either a dressage horse or a trail horse. He can be either one. He is 2 totally different horses depending on his job also. For trail riding, he’s super laid back, not easily moved (aka lazy 🤣), and light in the bridle. Works off direct or neck reining and also moves lovely off your leg (directional wise). As a dressage horse, he has the same foundations but he knows the differences between the bridles 🤷🏻♀️🤣 he gets a little more “up” which is wonderful for dressage. He is light off your leg and seat aids, however he is a stronger horse due to his size (he’s not super tall, but he’s built like a body builder) so you need some good upper body strength I will be super picky about the person and training program he goes to. Also, he must remain in a training program if going to a dressage home, I will not sell him to someone who just wants to do things on their own without guidance (unless you just want him for trail riding).
