Coromandel is a 16.3h big boned 8 yo hanoverian Contucci/Weltmeyer bred at Hilltop Farm. He is wonderful to train and ride. He never has a naughty thought. He is a large mover with an even bigger trot. He regularly scores 8 on his trot extensions. He is committed in the bridle and easy to ride. His canter is very up hill and engaged. His medium canter is huge and expressive. He loves to practice counter-canter and will soon find his lead change easily. Rj, as he is known in the barn, has a great rein-back and turn on the haunches. He will do his first second level test in competition on September 12. He has been competing very successfully at first level, never scoring below a 68. His last show he scored 69.03 doing first level test 3. With an 8 for movement and gaits. He is easy to ride and would suit a serious amateur looking to be very competitive in the show ring. His training will move along quickly in a program as he never backs away from hard work and isn’t flustered when pushed to do more. Rj also loves to go hacking and is traffic safe and crosses creeks. He is well behaved at in the warm-up and never puts a foot wrong. We feel that with Rj’s size and movement as well as temperament he would suit a male rider well, however, he is currently ridden and trained by a 5’4 women who loves him. This horse, for the last 6 months, has been in a progressive training program and improves daily. In this type of program he will move up the ranks quickly. Rj temperament and movement are a 10. Horses this trainable do not come along everyday. He is a truly a needle in the haystack find.
