The Count Basil is a 16.2 h 2004 imported GOV Oldenburg Gelding. He has been given quality correct training by USDF Bronze Silver Medalist who had a 68% debut at Grand Prix, trains regularly with Debbie McDonald and has worked full time for 1 year and part time for 2 years Debbie's base of River Grove Farm. Katie has also trained in Germany for a year.

"Willy" takes a good connection, is easy to sit, has a fabulous half pass and is solid in his changes. A serious A/A or Professional could compete him to great scores at 4th Level or PSG, and at the very same show, a less educated rider could enjoy competing him in the lower levels. He has been enjoyed by teenagers and Adult Amateurs alike. Not only does he have the elasticity and tempo the judges love, but he is not spooky, is uncomplicated to haul away from home, he clips, bathes, cross ties and riders young and old can enjoy taking him out on a hack . He is just an overall gentleman to work with!

Willy's trainer thinks a lot of this horse and she knows what it takes to earn top honors at North American Young Rider Championships. In 2008 she won Individual Gold and Team Gold, and in 2009 she qualified and competed with the top Young Riders across the country at Gladstone.

Willy was purchased as a Jr/YR horse, however his young owner has chosen not to prepare to compete at this level. Willy is ready to be that sweet, sensible and fun dressage partner to have a blast training at home and then make their mark in the show ring creating memories to last a lifetime!

He has been given exceptional care including routine preventative maintenance body work, Game Ready treatments, regular exposure to a solarium , walks in the Eurociser, and hacks throughout the neighborhood to keep his mind fresh. All vet records and x-rays will be shared to help his new Mom know all about him.
