Delgado - Registered Canadian Sport Horse gelding

​This is an amazing opportunity to find your forever horse. These sort of horses do not come along often! He is a beautiful, talented, athletic horse with the temperament and disposition to match! Delgado was purchased from the breeder as a 3 year old. He is a Registered Canadian Sport Horse but most of his lineage is Hanoverian. He is by Don Rico x Weltruhm (Grand sire is Don Frederico out of Donnerhall, Dam's maternal grand sire is Laurie's Crusader). He is 9 years old and 16.3 hands.
Delgado spent 3 consecutive years as a show horse as a 4, 5 and 6 year old and pretty much won every class entered!
2016: scores in 78% range in FEI 4year old and earning top score at every show
2017: Ontario Training level Adult Amateur Champion, Eastern Canadian Training level Adult Amateur Champion
2018: Highest score of the show at Dressage4Kid's Youth Dressage Festival in Saugerties NY -- First level, 73%. Also got reserve champion of the First level 17y-21y division at the D4K show. OADG Young Horse of the Year, OADG First level AA champion. 3rd place in Equine Canada's year end awards for First level.
He is currently on a lesser training schedule due to no fault of his own. He is being ridden about 3 days a week at a training level and 3 days a week of hacking, lunging, poles or sometimes jumping . He absolutely LOVES to hack either by himself or in a group. He has no buck or rear and is quite confident. No vices. He is happy to ride with or without company and is not upset about being alone.
Delgado is currently living outdoors 24/7 and is not blanketed even in the winter. He is able to live indoors but seems to be the happiest when he is outside. He gets along well in a group. He tends to be the dominant horse but he is not mean or nasty about it. He does love to "play hard" with the other geldings.
He is an easy keeper and only requires vitamins and supplements.
He is up to date with vaccines, deworming and teeth floating. He is currently sound but did have a mild SI injury in February 2019. He is fully recovered and does not have any issues from the injury but the owner still has regular chiropractic visits and does his prescribed stretches and exercises.
No history of colic. He is barefoot and has always been bare foot.
He is good to trailer, crosstie and bathe. He stands quietly for farrier and vet. He loves to be pampered and spoiled and thoroughly enjoys his scratches, massages and stretches.

The owner is hoping to find a home for him where he can enjoy a bit of cross training. He is happiest when there is a bit of variety to the work - whether it be a day of poles, jumping, trail riding, or just playing in the arena.
