76% Scores! Perfect for Young Pro, Ambitious A/A

Della is an affectionate mare with a lot of expression in her movements and her personality! She is quiet and sweet to work with and handles lots of activity at busy FEI show barn! She stands quietly to be braided, swept under, and groomed and is often a 4 for temperament (10 being hot).

Della is very well bred, by Donnerschlag (Donnerhall) out of a Lauries Crusador mare. Della has three excellent gaits, and is now schooling all the Third and Fourth level movements. She has very nice collected, medium and extended gaits. Lateral work is very easy for her, and she understands what is asked in training her flying changes. Della has only been in Colorado and in full training for less than three months, and during that time she has made huge improvements in her training, while getting back into fitness. With more time and strength they will just keep getting better.

Della enjoys hacking out alone or with a barn mate around Iron Horse Farms’ many acres and 3-mile track to cool out after her training.

Della’s agent believes her next best home is with a Young Professional, Serious Adult Amateur or Junior rider. She has been owned by a young girl who had great success training and showing her in California with scores to 76% at Training Level and in the 70%s at First level. Unfortunately, when Della’s owner moved to a new state, Della was not kept in consistent work, and she started to express herself in ways that intimidated her owner. Sadly Della was ridden and trained even less. Della had a few shows at Second Level, but then the difficult decision was made to offer her to a new home. Della was sent to a trusted quality trainer, USDF Gold Medalist Grant Schneidman. In the short time Grant has had Della, he sees her potential for the right new owner to take this talented mare up the levels.

Della’s owner and trainer know she is an athletic horse who can share her opinions if she thinks you were not riding her how she was expecting, but is then able to go back and try again! This is why Della is listed as a 7 for her temperament score. Della would easily be worth double or triple her asking price if she were the kind of horse that any A/A, JR/YR or child could ride. Della's owners are offering a great opportunity for an experienced rider to enjoy a very well bred and fancy moving horse to train and show at a rare low price for the dressage world, because they want Della to go to a positive rider who can set some boundaries with her, make peace, then show her to go back to work. As you see in her video Della will go back to work and work beautifully!
