High Valley Hanoverians is pleased to offer for sale Der Sternschnuppe HVH to an exceptional dressage performance home. Der Sternschnuppe HVH (“Schnapps”) is a handsome brown/black 2017 Hanoverian gelding by Don Frederico out of EM Rebellienne HVH. His name is the German words for Shooting Star due to the star and diagonal strip on his face, but the barn name “Schnapps” seems to fit him the best. Schnapps was born in Oct.2017. He is leggy and expected to mature to ~16.2H+ with exceptional correctness and conformation, floaty gaits, curious temperament and super trainable. He has exceptional ground manners, enjoys carefree days in the young gelding play paddock and receives free schooling / in hand training 1-2x per week.

Schnapps was bred for dressage. His sire, Don Frederico (Donerhall) won the dressage portion of his stallion test in Germany, was successful as a young horse in the Bundeschampianate, and has a dressage breeding index of 140. Moon Shadow’s dam, EM Rebellienne HVH (Rotspon) was the USDF Horse of the Year in her 3 year old year (Champion under saddle and Reserve Champion HOY in hand) and who was the 2013 USEF 4 yo Young Horse Dressage Champion and Region 1 USDF Champion. Schnapps is already demonstrating his future dressage potential via his powerful, uphill gaits and exceptional trainability.

Schnapps is being raised / trained via the unique High Valley Hanoverians program “Developing Hanoverian Athletes in the Mind & the Body®”. This program is known for producing quality young dressage horses with a rock-solid dressage foundation, are in super physical condition due to the combined training and mountain hill work and have an exceptional work ethic due to being truly happy in their work. Schnapps is flourishing in this program and is well on his way to demonstrating his phenomenal dressage performance potential. As an option, seller is willing to provide raising services for Schapps to continue in the High Valley Hanoverians program until such time that he is ready for performance competition.
