Deven was Res Champion (by less than a point) with a 71.103% in the very competitive First Level Open division and finished his 2015 show season with a 71% median at First Level. He took his A/A rider up to 72% scores at Training level, and then USDF Gold Medal trainer, USDF Certified Instructor through Fourth Level and USEF L Judge Simone Ahern earned 72% scores and qualified for Regionals in just 2 shows. He is by the prestigious sire 007Seven out of a Weltmeyer Mare. Deven has an engaging personality and loves people!
Deven is schooling all the Second Level movements, and would be a serious competitor to show First and Second Level this spring. His canter work feels super to ride and his trot work is forward and comfortable. His lateral work is easy, and he’s the kind of horse that keeps moving forward and loves his dressage work. He settles in quickly at new barns for clinics and show facilities and has gone right to work!
The farm Deven is boarded at has changed owners and a new business is now based there with many new sounds and activities that are not at a typical farm, and he is sometimes aware of the sounds coming from outside when he is ridden in the indoor arena. For this reason Deven’s trainer believes he is not suited for beginner riders, but is a great horse for riders who have experience, and can ask a horse to continue to focus on the work within the arena, give him a pat and keep riding a kind horse from their leg and seat into their hand.
Deven is owned by a veterinarian who has had him since he was six months old. She loves him dearly and has given him the best of care and training. Deven had a small injury and subsequent time off in 2016 and was given all the quality care he needed. He returned slowly and carefully back to work in Nov 2016. This is such an affectionate horse who loves to be fussed over! It has been a very difficult decision to offer Deven for sale; however his owner has gained so much experience and confidence she has set her sights on FEI levels of dressage, and Deven’s conformation is showing his trainer that he is a competitive horse for the lower levels dressage.
