As a breeder of warmbloods for 30 years I am especially pleased with this colt. Starting with good bone and structural correctness of his damline his mother from Sandro Hit came out beautiful while still maintaining good structure and of course movement. This colt's sire Dolany was used by the Holsteiner Verband to improve gaits in the Holstein breed. Hailing from top dressage line Donnerhall and a Holsteiner dam, his power, movement and rideability made him a Grand Prix horse under Wolfgang Schade. We produced one other Dolany offspring from this colt's grand dam and the resulting mare Britta VHF to this day is one of the most powerful moving horses I've seen. Britta now resides in Michigan where she is producing phenomenal foals for Spencer Sporthorses. Her biggest drawback as a broodmare is no one sees her foal at inspections when she starts moving! As modern warmbloods continue to lighten and have questionable foundations, Dolane is a superb outcome combining good bone and movement with the elegance of his Sandro Hit Grandsire. His big Donnerhall neck and that thick tail make for an unparalled presence.
Sire Dolany:
Dolany won the Schleswig – Holsteiner landeschampionat. He was placed fourth at the World Championships for young dressage horses. He was ridden by Wolfgang Schade and was successful in Grand Prix dressage.
Dolany’s sire, Donnerhall, has had a lasting influence on dressage, as a sport horse as well as a sire. The serial Grand Prix winner won team gold under his constant rider, Karin Rehbein, at the world champinships in Den Haag and Rom. His immense number of successful offspring includes Don Schufro and De Niro, two of the most frequently used stallions in Europe.
Dolany’s damline clearly indicates his qualities as a dressage sire and his own sport horse abilities. His dam Catania is a half sister to the exceptional dressage horse Chacomo by Calypso I, under Alexandra Simons-de Ridder winner of team gold at the Sydney Olympics. Sadly, this typical representative of Holsteiner dressage horse breeding died shortly after the 2000 Olympics. His damsire Cor de la Bryère has not only had a towering influence on European jump horse breeding, but also produced world class dressage horses like Corlandus and sires known for their offspring’s
quality movement like Calypso.
Dolany impressively displayed his very correct legs and striking type at the stallion licensing.
Already at 3-year-old he demonstrated outstanding rideability and exceptional movement under saddle and won the state championship in 2001. In 2003, at 6 year old, he qualified for the Verden young horse world dressage championships, where he captured 4th place under his constant rider Christine von Oldershausen. At 7 years of age, Dolany already won dressage classes at S level.
Since summer 2005, Wolfgang Schade had had the ride on him. He produced him and succeed in intermédiaire II classes at international level in 2006. The following years saw the pair win at Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special level. Dolany had a son, Domiano, licensed for breeding already from his first crop presented at Neumün -ster in 2004. In 2005, two attractive sons with very powerful movement were marked „licensed” at Neumünster, and also in 2006 two striking sons, De Chirico and Dauphin, were stallion graded.
In 2008, his offspring De Chirico and Devallier took 1st and 3rd place in the state riding horse championship in Bad Segeberg. De Chirico won and placed highly in dressage classes to M level in 2010. Dolantino under Kristina Heuer, Doktor Vogel under Christine von Oldershausen and Dustin under Raphael Loison are the first Dolany offspring with achievements at S level.
Dam: Phoebe VH is a product of our favorite mare line we started with in 1996. Her heavily Holsteiner influenced pedigree on dam side makes her the ideal broodmare to add substance, bone and correctness to her offspring. She was the third of 3 Sandro Hit offspring from her dam Natalie. Phoebe was started here as a 3 yr old and went easily into work walk, trot and canter both in the arena and outside on the farm. Video here: https://youtu.be/5zcwynNdi44 She was Premium and Site Champion at her Oldenburg inspection and is also Premium in the Westphalian book. She has produced only Premium foals everytime and is an absolute joy of a mare to be around. She passes her easy going temperament on to her foals as well as her exceptional talent and looks. Her oldest foal is also by Fuerstenball and is a Premium and SiteChampion mare with Westphalian NA.
