Dolce has a fantastic attitude: loves attention, quick learner, not at all spooky, and not at all marish. She has three clear, consistent gaits: a long, loose walk, a steady trot with the ability to lengthen, and a well-balanced canter. She has no vices, stands quietly for farrier, clipping, and trailer loads easily.

The first couple months of her training was sent exposing her to new things. We've gone on plenty of trails in woods, in neighborhoods, near construction, and she's done great with crossing water, deer jumping out in front of her, cars, bicycles, and joggers (see Dolce's desensitizing video). She's one of the bravest, most sensible horses I've ever had the pleasure of training.

The dressage video shows her basic gaits undersaddle after only being ridden with contact a handful of times (video was taken in July). She's soft in my hand, light off, the leg, and tries hard to please. I will be making a new video soon.

In October we began introducing small jumps undersaddle. She has been very willing and seems to enjoy it. She has excellent form over jumps higher than 2', but because of her age we are keeping the jumps 18" or smaller. (The photo of her jumping 2'6" was a one time deal, taken to show her potential). I'm sure with another year to mature she will have no trouble jumping 3'6" or higher.

This is a fun, uncomplicated athlete, with plenty of promise for a successful career in eventing, huntseat, or dressage.
