Don Ahlerich "Lurch" is 2015 AHS registered and branded Hanovarian gelding that stands a solid 17.2 hands tall. Lurch has an impressive career as a young horse with many USDF national titles and championship titles at notable shows. Due to his size and powerful movement, it is recommended that Lurch find a capable rider in a professional program. He was started over fences July 2020 which is a job he really seems to like. Lurch is a bold and powerful jumper. He is currently jumping 1.0 courses with scope and heart for 1.20+. He does have a lead change which is becoming more correct as he gets stronger. He has schooled a handful of BN sized XC fences and was brave and willing the entire outing. He moves off of your leg and knows lateral movements such as leg yield, shoulder in, and haunches in. Lurch has a cheeky and goofy personality plus around the barn, and knows good manners. He clips, ties, loads, bathes, etc. without issues. He stands for the farrier and vet. He has lifetime USDF and USEF numbers. Lurch is also registered with the PFR Silver Stirrup program through USEF. Lurch is up to date on all vaccinations with routine farrier work. He has no vices or known soundness issues. He has had the same owner since his yearling year, so his entire medical history is known. He will be at WEC August 4- August 7.
