Donatello is a big, tall, striking colt with outstanding conformation - destined to be easily over 17 hands. This colt could really go any of a number of directions. He is quite athletic and enjoys jumping, twisting and flying lead changes while playing. The sire, Beeston Laird (17.2 hands) is a purebred Approved Irish Draught stallion who is producing offspring that are excelling in eventing and dressage. The dam is a Friesian/draft cross mare (16.3 hands) yet she is stunning and very very light on her feet with incredible athleticism. The dam has a very calm and sweet demeanor and is broke to ride and drive. Between them both the colt should be an excellent sporthorse prospect for someone wanting a big, tall horse. He might make an outstanding fox hunting or event horse for a tall person. Donatello is shedding his foal coat and looks like he will be a rich dark bay with a very black mane and tail. Donatello has a human friendly temperament, he enjoys people quite a bit. He is sensible and yet is fun to be around.
