Donna has been started over fences and is currently training for dressage. She is calm and has a soft eye and will trot and canter from a light touch. She is confident and trusting and has never spooked at anything. Donna has nice gaits with a natural very steady tempo. She naturally carries her head in a good position for a level balance and nice top line. We started her dressage training in December 2014 and think she will really excel and be easy to train up the levels. The video of Donna was taken in 2011 of her being ridden by a teenager over a course of small jumps. The photos were taken March 2015. We purchased Donna to produce a registered Half-Arabian foal for my future dressage horse, because we prefer to show on the Arabian circuit. A calm temperament and great confirmation were as important to me as gaits when selecting her. Donna was pregnant on the first try using frozen semen. After an initial look of surprise she immediately started caring for her foal and was trusting enough to allow us to handle the filly at any time. She was attentive, but not overprotective, produced a lot of milk, and looked great after weaning. My new liver chestnut filly has Donna’s same confident and trusting temperament. Because she had time off to raise a foal, she needs to go to a home with an advanced amateur rider or professional trainer who can continue her training. She would also make a wonderful broodmare, passing on not only her confirmation and gaits, but her lovely temperament. She also loves her pasture time and will only be sold to a home with good turn-out.
Her sire is Domiro, a Hanoverian that was imported from Germany. He scored higher on his stallion dressage test, but was shown as a jumper in the US. Below is some information on him and a good photo. Donna looks a lot like her sire. Domiro's sire is Donnerhall one of the top dressage stallions in the world, known for producing amateur friendly get. He was the individual Bronze Medalist at the 1992 European Championships and the 1994 World Championships. He was also named the 1994 German Champion and 1997 Team European Champion.
