Duke is an affectionate 4-year old Oldenburg Gatsby baby out of a registered Halflinger mare. He was lightly started the summer he turned 3 and then put back out to pasture to mature a bit with just a refresher ride every 6-8 weeks. He is smart, a quick learner, and has a playful personality both with his equine and human friends (and thinks everyone is his friend with his trusting nature - so he will be the first one to race across the field to meet you at the gate when he sees you coming). While we think he will make a lovely hunter, he is ready now for consistent work and can go in any direction. In the video's he's ridden by a 14-year old, so you can see he is easily managed with an amateur developing rider. With teens soon heading to college, he's reluctantly for sale with the hope that he finds a forever home and someone that can take him to the next level.

He is an easy keeper outside 24/7 with other geldings except when the Iowa winter weather drops below -10. He gets a blend of grass and alfalfa hay twice a day. He is barefoot, and while we do have a blanket for him, he has a nice winter coat and doesn't need it. He is UTD on all vaccinations and had his teeth floated in October. He gets trimmed every 6 weeks. He has never had any health issues and vet records are available to his future owner. I promise you will fall in love with him!
