UPDATE 3/2/13: First show of the season (his second show ever) and he scored 72.6% at Second Test 3! He also did Third Test 3.
Eli has just started working the tempi's. His extensions are lovely and he can really sit and collect when schooling collected canter and pirouettes. Also shows talent for Piaffe & Passage. This is an upper level prospect at a reasonable price!
Eli is currently in professional training with USDF Gold Medalist- Andrea Lucianna of Half-Trak Dressage and is ready to show 3rd Level, possibly 4th/PSG by summer. Changes are clean, doing lovely canter half pass, and working canter pirouettes!
Great personality, safe, sane, and sound, plus a good mover! What's not to love?
Eli (registered name Ilijah) is by the imported 4 Star Oldenburg stallion, Ideal (Inschallah/Zeus/Furioso II) and out of a MMB Approved TB mare with great sport lines (such as In Reality). Eli was a Premium Foal with a very impressive 8.4 for Movement! He was started under saddle slowly and correctly. He is now performing all Second & Third Level movements and schooling the Fourth Level tests. He attended his first show Sept 18, 2011 and placed FIRST at First Level, Test 2 with a 67%. The judge awarded him four 8s! If he did this at his first show, just imagine his future! He has not been shown in 2012 due to owner's schedule.
Hunter folks: this guy is modern and leggy with bling, has a flat kneed trot with good suspension, nice form over the fences, and he hates to rub the rails. He is super CUTE!! He doesn't have a ton of experience but, boy, is the potential there! His dam was a lovely hunter type TB and he inherited her great hip angles, while his sire is known for passing on his excellent jumping ability. Email me for much more info (and pix) on his parents.
Not only does he have wonderful movement and lots of potential, he is really enjoyable to be around. He is very smart, can learn tricks, loves to be fussed over, and tries to please. He has loads of personality and is truly a barn favorite.
He has been ridden by beginners and takes good care of them but his extreme friendliness on the ground can sometimes come across as pushy, so I wouldn't recommend him for a timid beginner. Older adults will appreciate the fact that he is light in the bridle, which makes things much easier for arthritic hands. While he would make any amateur happy, my trainer also loves riding him- he is talented, straightforward, and rewarding to work with. He has a lot of "try" but does best with a compassionate rider who will reward him when he does the right thing, as he gets frustrated if he feels that he is never getting it right or if his rider is overly forceful (too much hand or spur).
Eli bathes, clips, hauls, ties, etc. He loves visits from the vet and farrier (any attention is good attention!) He has no vices.
For sale direct from breeder, so a full history is available. No soundness or health problems. He was my first foal, so I've been a little reluctant to let him go but now I need to reduce my numbers and make room for all the youngsters!
