If you want a horse that has all the athletic ability to do what you want, without the need to ride the red line every day----you have found her! Festina had a foal in 2024 (foal scored 8.1 for movement at the inspection!), was started in the fall, and has had an easy introduction to training through the winter. As the cobbler's child she gets worked when we have time, so there have been plenty of gaps, but she does steps right back into the arena with a 'can do' attitude after each break.. She had been tightening up her mama belly and learning to balance, showing more power with each ride. She is not wide and her gaits are very smooth and comfortable to sit. She trailers well and enjoys trail riding, seemingly unruffled by dogs, bikes, heavy equipment, puddles, fire, other horses being rowdy. We have plopped her over some baby jumps and she seems perfectly happy to do that too!
She was a great mama, easy to get in foal---but I think she would rather backpack around Europe before a life of Better Homes and Gardens.
Very personable and easy on the ground. Sound, barefoot.
Truly a nice minded mare with a solid base on her ready to start being molded into your sporthorse of a lifetime!
