The year prior, he was reserve regional and reserve Bundeschampion in the 4 yr old stallion division. At the 2001 Bundeschampionate, the German ministry of Agriculture proclaimed him Best Licensed and Performance Tested stallion. The damsire of Dubonnet is the famous Roemer. Roemer moved from a career as an International Grand Prix Jumper in Holland to a Grand Prix Dressage horse in the U.S. Listed as the top producing sire of USDF Horses of the Year over an 11-yr period in the U.S., Roemer is the first breeding stallion to be inducted into the USDF Hall of Fame. As the first KWPN stallion living outside of the U.S. to be awarded the Preferent Predicate by the KWPN, he distinguished himself as one of only three other stallions in the world awarded this status. The breathtaking nature of this wonderful stallion delighted audiences with his larger than life presence, physical beauty, and harmonious work at Grand Prix Level. Roemer’s strength of character, intelligence, beauty, and sensitivity made him a legend in his own time. His breeding record was truly outstanding, and his offspring excel in both jumping and dressage.

The sire of this colt is the magnificent stallion Freestyle. Freestyle, who is by Florestan I, is a beautiful 17hh stallion with an athletic body, very well applied hindquarters and a super character. At the 100 day Performance test at Prussendorf, he was awarded a perfect 10 for character and a 9 for temperament. In dressage, he proved to rank amongst the best of his year and received a 9.33 for ridebility. His total score was 132.55 points and he was the overall winner of his performance test. Recently, for the Top 200 Dressage Stallion Breeding Value Index, Freestyle was rated with an index of 151!

We are excited to say that Dubonnet’s 2012 COLT is very closely related to the Premium and Champion Licensed Stallion (#59), FOR ROMANCE, recently sold at the 2011 Oldenburg Stallion Days Licensing/Auction in Vechta, Germany on November 19. He sold for an amazing $750,000 EURO (over $1 Million U.S. Dollars)!!

This Stallion has a close 3-way bloodline match with our Dubonnet’s 2012 COLT, both on the top and bottom of the pedigree: through the F line (Florestan I), the D line (Don Shufro) and also through a very prominent mare line proven for producing stallions, Loretta. She is an Elite mare held in the highest regard who has sired the well known “Hit” line of successful stallions such as Sandro Hit, Diamond Hit and Royal Hit.

This foal is EXACTLY what we are looking for. If you look at the foal and you say there are a lot of foals that come up and do this (she raises her arm and brings it straight down). THIS foal is coming up and doing THIS (she raises her arm and brings it way up and over), carrying himself, he has hock action, but he is carrying himself. Then you look at the back and the back is moving and the back is supple and it has the ability to stretch so the hind legs can come underneath. The movement in front, because the hind leg is so powerful, can do whatever it wants. It can trot like this (she puts her arm down and in front of her) but it can also trot like THIS (she picks her arm up high and out), because the hind end is carrying him. So this is EXACTLY what we look for. I think you have an exceptionally nice foal. This is a really really nice foal. I have not only given him a PREMIUM but I have also given him a FOAL OF DISTINCTION. He is a really nice foal. He is just what we look for. Then you go back and look at the mother and see what she is doing. I remember this mare and I saw her when she was born and as she grew up and I told her former owner that this is probably the best horse you will ever have. You are VERY lucky. Look at the mare. Look at the gaits on the mare, she is unbelievable. She is outstanding. You have a found a niche with Freestyle and this particular mare. When you get a mare like this to breed, SHE is giving the strength here. You are a very very very lucky person.
