Kingston’s mother, Mya, was imported from Belgium as a 2 year old. Mya is from Holsteiner family 776 regarded as one of the best jumping families in the world of showjumping. Mya was produced by a Young Rider (16 year old) to 1.40m +. She was National 6 year old champion and was 4th in the 7 year old HOY. She has had many wins in Young Rider and Mini Prix (1.35m - 1.45m) and jumped a lot of clear rounds. Mya is also a half sister to another successful Young Rider mare also imported to NZ as a young horse. All the offspring look very promising and are naturally sporty with a high level of ridebility. The strongest attributes Kingston’s mother has, is her enthusiasm for the sport always wanting to go and do a good job and her incredible temperament, she was such an easy horse to produce. This seems to be a strong trait of the mare line, a temperament for an amateur but the talent for top sport. NEWS: Mya has just won again this weekend with a 14 year girl 1.25m Junior class.
Kingston’s father is a modern type bringing top genetics. Both Kalaska’s mother and his father are top performers and his family is the great Contender mare line. There is also good performance at top level in Kalaska’s mother’s siblings. Kalaska de Semilly was bought by a relatively amateur rider and competed successfully to 5* international showjumping level.
Kingston has been well handled, feet trimmed, transported and rugged. He has a really easy-going temperament great to do anything with. Right ready to be started. Kingston is very correct, excellent feet, correct leg alignment, very nice moving and is compact, with very good proportions for natural balance. Kingston is very striking in the flesh.
Kingston’s pedigree is the top cross with Diamant de Semilly blood on the top of his pedigree and the Carthago blood on the mare line. Mylord Carthago is not only ranked in the top 10 on the WBFSH sire ranking but he also ranks 6th in the list of sires with winning offspring under 13 years of age. Mylord Carthago is now highly regarded as a broodmare sire.
Kingston is a top prospect for top sport but equally a beautiful horse to produce for a wide range of riders and codes.
