Gotcha is an attractive 2011 chestnut sabino Dutch Warmblood filly. She is by the 17.0 hh stallion Ironman (Inselfurst/Wienerwald/Gottard), who had great success in the jumper ring and has gone on to be a leading hunter sire. Ironman’s offspring are known for their great temperament, outstanding athletic ability, personality, intelligence, easy trainability, and superb conformation. Gotcha is out of the imported 16.3+ hh Dutch Warmblood mare, Piacenza (Hamlet/Pele). She is by the International Grand Prix Jumper, Hamlet. Hamlet is well-known for siring the great Hickstead, who won countless Grand Prix events worldwide, represented Canada in 10 Nations Cup classes. Hickstead's many international wins include the 2008 Olympic individual gold and team silver medalist, the 2007 $1 million CN International at Spruce Meadows and team silver and individual bronze at the 2007 Pan American Games. Based on his performance record, Hickstead was ranked the number one show jumping horse in the world by the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses (WBFSH) in 2008. He was also named 'Stallion of the Year' for 2008 by the KWPN. Piacenza’s dam, Brigette, competed through the 1.35 m jumpers and is by Pele, an excellent producer of both dressage and jumping horses in the Netherlands. Piacenza herself started in the jumper ring in Holland successfully completing up to the 1.30 m jumpers, and was then imported to the US. She competed successfully at the A level for several years in both hunters and jumpers with her young riders, including HITS Ocala.
Gotcha is a very pretty, unique filly. She is a balanced, smooth, daisy-cutter mover with big ground covering gaits. She is inquisitive and has a very sweet personality. She is extremely brave in new situations, not spooky, and is very easy to work with. Gotcha definitely has the mind to be a very amateur-friendly mount in the future. She has been consistently handled and socialized from birth. She will mature to 16.2-16.3 hh and is sure to turn heads in the hunter or jumper rings!
She was started in January 2014 and spent 30 days learning her basics. She is going quietly walk, trot, and canter and enjoys the work. This filly was practically 'born broke' - she has been a breeze to start. She is accepting of the bridle and very willing to work. She is a lovely young hunter or jumper prospect.
Gotcha is currently in foal to Cunningham for March 2015. Foal is sold in-utero. Available for sale with free board until weaning of her 2015 foal.
