2009 model Selle Francais/TB gelding who was bred with eventing in mind.
He is by the Selle Francais stallion Bas Blanc, who competed internationally in the Jumpers in France, Germany, and America. Bas Blanc is by Artichaut, a successful producer of national and international jumpers including Orchestre and the approved stallion Quartz du Vallon.
Graham's dam, Lighting Whiz, is a Jockey Club Thoroughbred mare out of a known line of eventing thoroughbreds. Her sire, Half a Year, sired several eventers, including Super Demand, who competed at Prelim and Intermediate levels. Lighting Whiz's damsire is Habitony. He produced Chenago,who competed through Prelim, and Rouge Et Noir, who competed at Intermediate and Advanced, as well as completing a CIC 2*
With this successful cross of a proven warmblood jumper stallion on a thoroughbred mare with proven eventer lines, Graham is an excellent eventing or jumper prospect!
He ties, clips, bathes,Loads great in the trailer, and has been ponied. In addition this gelding was selected as a demo horse at the Future Event Horse Demonstration at the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event. He was remarkably well behaved and nothing fazed him. Handled by professional Handler Bruce Griffin, who remarked that he has the looks to be a fantastic Jumper/Eventer and said Graham possessed a lovely ground covering walk!
He will excell as a Amateur Owner's project to bring up the ranks!
Has been started under saddle and is remarkably calm and level headed. Currently working quietly at all three gaits under saddle, walking and trotting over ground poles and x rails, and going out with company on trail rides. Handles all new experiences with aplomb.
