Lovely, Quiet and Reliable-Perfect Amateur Partner

New Videos! Gran Valor is a lovely 6-year-old registered, branded Hanoverian gelding with a loving personality, a strong desire to please, and a great work ethic. He's quiet and consistent, and he'll be the perfect partner for an amateur rider. You can count on this guy to be the same horse every time you ride, even if you don't have time to ride him daily. He's got the rare combination of lots of energy, interest, and forwardness without being spooky, and although he's young, he's sensible, consistent, and very dependable. This is a horse you can hop on and ride without lunging--he's always ready to go to work and to give you his best effort. He's been a joy to train and ride because he loves heading to the arena for a workout, and he stays interested in and focused on any task he's presented with. He loves to learn, and he makes measurable gains with every single schooling session. Gran Valor has been ridden by several different amateur riders over the summer, and he's always willing and well-behaved.

Gran Valor was the top colt at his Hanoverian inspection. He is sound and healthy with no history of illness, injury, or vice. X-rays performed August 2014 on all four extremities, all joints ($1200 panel) were perfectly clean. He has great feet and legs, and works year round without shoes. He's up-to-date on Coggins, de-worming, and vaccinations. His feet are trimmed every six weeks and his teeth were floated in July of 2015.

After growing up with excellent care and nutrition on his breeder's farm, Gran Valor was started under saddle as a five year old, and thanks to his great brain and his willingness to work and learn, he's progressed very rapidly. He's responsive to the aids, calm, steady, and wonderfully predictable. From his first time being backed, he has never offered to buck, rear, bolt or misbehave in any way.

Gran Valor is generally worked lightly six days a week, either schooling in the arena or going on hacks by himself or with another horse or two. He had a two-week vacation over the winter, and he when his break was over, he picked up right where he left off with no silliness. He is perfectly content in his stall (likes to plop down and take a nap) or in the pasture with other horses. He's quiet and well-mannered in hand, stands happily in the crossties, politely picks up all four feet, loads easily, is well-behaved for the vet and farrier, and loves to be groomed for as long as you'll keep it up. He comes to greet you in the pasture, and he's always happy and willing to go to work. Like all of our young horses, he's been thoroughly bomb-proofed as part of his training. He'll walk willingly over tarps and through water, and work quietly in an arena lined with flags, banners, and barrels. He's been worked in heavy wind and light rain, ridden alongside a pond with dozens of noisy geese, and nothing seems to rattle him. My farm is 10 miles from the airport and across the road from a train track, and he'll work right through the distraction of rumbling trains and overhead helicopters.

After a full year in training, Gran Valor is going well at the walk, trot, and canter, and is mastering leg yield and shoulder in. He is a forward-moving horse with lively, animated gaits, and it's not necessary to ride with spurs or whip or urge him along at every stride. He'll be ready to hit the show ring this year, and he'll be an excellent partner for an amateur rider. He has the youth, soundness, trainability, and talent to advance through the levels.

Gran Valor's formal training to date has been in dressage, but he loves jumping and he's very good at it. I have several videos of him jumping in the chute and under saddle. His sire, Graf Top II, is known for endowing his offspring with great athleticism and talent in both dressage and jumping.

I'm proud to offer Gran Valor for sale, and I look forward to meeting his new partner.
