Habana is a 2012, KWPN-NA registered mare by Ampere out of Waukena (Contester x Wanroij). Lifetime reg with USDF and USEF. She was shown in hand in the USDF young horse classes with great success. She was shown once under saddle as a 4 year old in Materiale and received scores to 75%. Habana was started here on the farm by an amateur and ridden very lightly as a 3 and 4 year old. She was given time off (due to circumstances relating to her owner) and was bred to Sir Sinclair in 2018. She was an easy breeder and we had success on our first try with fresh semen. She had a smaller lovely filly who is now 4 years old and here on the farm.
Habana is a gorgeous 15.3 hand powerhouse. Her trot and canter have impulsion and lift, she steps well under her body with her hind legs and her walk is more than acceptable. She has been schooled to first level. She can be a hot horse but is kind and seems to love her work under saddle. She's a bit of an "over achiever" so needs a rider with confidence, patience, lightness, skill and tact. She has never offered to buck, rear or run off, but at times has a lot of energy that needs to be channeled appropriately. We have taken her out on two different farms for some trail riding with other horses and she was very well behaved. She is easy in the stall, cross ties, stands for farrier, bathes, and is very good natured. She genuinely likes people and is kind. No illnesses, no injuries. Barefoot. Currently she is out on pasture and not under saddle. She can be seen in Paris, KY by appointment.
