New under-saddle videos. Hannah Boden is a tall, flashy filly with great bone, tons of bling and a quiet, unflappable, and willing personality. She has lovely conformation, great presence, and smooth, easy to ride gaits that will make her a fabulous partner for the hunter arena.
As a three year old, Hannah stands at 16hh, is growing, and will likely finish at 16.1 or 16.2 hh. I bought Hannah from her breeder as a weanling, and she's had careful nutrition since birth and has been allowed to spend most of her time turned out in a ten-acre pasture with her friends to ensure she grows and develops properly. She's brought in to the barn and stalled for several hours daily for handling, grooming, working, and regular loading.
Hannah was lightly backed in the fall and winter of 2014. She had been begging for a job since she was a yearling, and she has never misbehaved in the training arena--she accepts everything she is introduced to with a calm, curious, and willing attitude. In her training, Hannah has never bucked, kicked, reared, or attempted to bolt, and she's been a joy to work with on the ground and under saddle. Hannah is the same horse every day--very consistent and predictable. We missed two weeks of schooling during the winter snow, and she happily picked up right where she left off without batting an eye.
Hannah Boden is now going beautifully walk, trot and canter. Because she is still young and growing, she's only been worked lightly to date; no more than 20 to 30 minutes in the arena on any given day. Arena work is alternated with long, slow hacks around the farm and off the farm. She is fearless; I have rarely seen her spook, even when we pass railroad tracks with thundering trains and a pond with dozens of flapping, honking geese. She works well on hacks and in the arena with other horses or alone.
Like all of our youngsters in training, Hannah has been through an extensive bomb-proofing program. She walks willingly over tarps, platforms, and water, works without distraction alongside waving flags, banners, and other potentially scary items. Hannah enjoys going through the jump chute and has never refused or gotten excited after jumping.
Hannah is healthy and sound. She has never had any illness, colic, or lameness. She has strong feet and legs and works year-round without shoes. She has no vices and is a joy to have in the barn and pasture. She is second in command in her herd of four horses. She is up-to-date on vaccinations, de-worming, Coggins, and teeth-floating. Her feet have been trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks since she was born.
Hannah's pedigree is packed with FEI talents, States Premium and Elite mares and stallions on both sides in all generations. Hannah’s dam, Kastiana is a stunning, 17.2+ hh mare working as an eventer, and her dam-sire is a Dutch Warmblood with the size and power of his Gelderlander lineage and the kindest nature you can find in a horse. Hannah’s dam’s dam was a very successful dressage competitor, and is a bonited Hanoverian who combines the bloodlines of World Cup I and Garibaldi II. Hannah has her sire Licosto’s beauty, elegance, and athleticism. Her breeding gives her an enviable pedigree for a winning career in the show ring, and as a broodmare afterwards.
Hannah's sire Licosto was the reserve champion at his stallion test with scores for dressage 8.84, jumping 8.11, rideability 9.5 and 10. As a 4 year old he competed in the Bundeschampionship and received an overall score of 8.33. In 2010 he competed in the worlds championship for young dressage horses where he finished 7th with a score of 8.44. At the 21st NRW foal auction in Munster Handorf , Licosto was the sire of the top selling foal.
