3 Diamonds Farm is proud to present for a client: Haz the El! Fondly known as Hanz in the barn, this lovely gelding is an unraced 7 year old, 16.2hh Thoroughbred. Bred in Pennsylvania, Hanz is built like a warmblood, with great confirmation and excellent bone. He comes from very sporty lines, as his sire is El Padrino and his dam is Haz the Beat. His lines get even more impressive, going back to A.P. Indy, Unbridled, Seattle Slew, and the great Secretariat. With such a great pedigree, it’s no wonder Hanz is such a lovely eventer with an easy, ammy friendly temperament.
Hanz is a charming, quiet all-around type with the talent and movement for dressage, jumpers, and eventing. He has the feel of a lesson type mount, who would suit many different riders. Hanz is a fabulous event horse in the making. Lovely on the flat, with three cute and comfortable gaits for the dressage court. Easy in stadium and a fun and brave ride cross country. Hanz has experience going to jumper shows at both beginner novice and novice height. He has also competed in beginner novice eventing with plans to move up to novice and keep competing till sold. He definitely has the scope and talent for so much more! Hanz also has been extensively trail ridden and absolutely loves it. He is the same horse with days off and doesn’t need a profession program as he has been mostly ammy produced. He is the same horse at shows as he is trail riding. Hanz is a horse you could compete one day and bareback hack the next!
Hanz is very ammy friendly in every way and an absolute pet in the barn. He has great ground manners and stands perfectly on the cross ties, at the trailer, and at the mounting block. Perfect for the vet and farrier. Easy to groom and tack. He has very good feet and wears four shoes with front pads currently as Virginia is now in a drought with very hard ground conditions. But, he was barefoot all last season (and competed barefoot too!) and could most likely go barefoot again once we get some rain here. Hanz’s farm is a busy place with lots of action; from a ton of riders coming and going, many dogs running around, and lots of loud yelling farm animals (including goats and sheep). None of that bothers him! Hanz is also an easy keeper and is currently living out 24/7. His only vice would be that he doesn’t like his bridle pulled on over his ears, so we unbuckle the sides to put his bridle on that way. Otherwise, zero vices and no maintenance.
If you are looking for a unicorn, Hanz is the one for you! Extremely ammy friendly, quiet and easy in every way, and perfect for kids, teens, and older riders looking for the safest mount. Hanz would love a career with his new person in dressage, jumpers, and eventing, with other adventures thrown in for fun. But don’t let his easygoing nature fool you! Hanz is a lovely and competitive horse that will continue up the levels of eventing and be incredibly successful with his new rider. He truly is the definition of a very talented pet and anyone would be very lucky to have this horse.
