Hemingway SCS was Reserve Champion of his FSA inspection with a total score of 85.062 under USDF "R" judge, Tina Drake. He received a total of six 9's, including 9's on both the quality and correctness of his trot, 9's for quality of Back & Hindquarters and Legs, a 9 for Sport Potential and an a 9.3 for overall impression.

Hemingway SCS (name changed from Hot Tamale SCS) is a gorgeous dark bay 2011 FSA colt by the Elite Trakeher stallion, Hofrat (Gribaldi x Guter Planet), out of the purebred Friesian mare Auster des Dragons de Soie (Nanning 374 x Pike 316). This boy is big, and will very likely mature a good 16.3+ hands. This is an opportunity to own a dressage prospect with a highly unique and superb quality pedigree that's loaded with proven talent.

Hemi's sire, elite Trakehner stallion Hofrat, is a Grand Prix dressage competitor and has for 5 years been among the top 1% of all German stallions according to the FN breeding value ratings for dressage. He has produced numerous approved sons, including the phenomenal Hanoverian stallion Hotline who holds the record for the most expensive Hanoverian stallion ever sold at auction. He has also produced many states premium mares and many winning foals. Hofrat's sire, EH Gribaldi, was an international Grand Prix winner under Edward Gal. Gribaldi also produced the legendary dressage phenomenon, Totilas, making he and Hofrat 1/2 paternal brothers. On his maternal side, Hofrat comes from a highly esteemed elite mare dynasty which has produced many successful stallions and sporthorses. Hofrat consistently passes on his gorgeous, elastic gaits, his superb rideability, and very willing temperaments.

Hemi's dam, the lovely FPS Friesian mare, Auster des Dragons de Soie, is a proven producer of high quality foals, with all three of her inspected FPS foals receiving second premiums, and at least one of those foals was awarded Reserve Champion of their keuring. Auster is a lovely, tall and correct mare by Nanning 374 out of the stam 103 star mare, Irma fan’t Zuid by Pike 316. Nanning was a highly exceptional Friesian stallion who simply exuded type and presence. He was always awarded a 1st premium, was permanently approved on offspring, and stood an impressive 16.3hh. Auster’s dam, Irma, is also dam to the approved Friesian stallion Teade 392 of Iron Spring Farm, making Auster and Teade maternal 1/2 siblings. Because so few Friesian stallions are approved for breeding each year, this speaks volumes about the superb quality of Auster's motherline.
