A top prospect for the big ring later in life! Ironclad is by the highly regarded young stallion Iron (Ibiza-Hohenstein). The young stallion was named Premium at his licensing, Reserve Champion at his Performance Test, and was the 2nd most highly used stallion in Demark in 2020. From that first foalcrop in 2021, he already has 2 licensed sons.

In 2021 Iron placed 9th at the Danish Young Horse Championships and the following season had scores as high as 94.6% in the FEI Young Horse classes. He was then acquired by the Pidgley for Catherine Dufour to ride, but sadly passed away due to a colic later that year. His sire Ibiza is competing at the FEI levels and has been a breeding phenom with 27 colts licensed to date. Grandsire Desperado has been a very successful International Grand Prix competitor under Emmelie Scholtens.

As impressive as Iron is, it is the dam of this colt that has us really excited. He is a son of Alice Tarjan’s beautiful States Premium mare Elfenfeuer (Florencio-Sion). Elfenfeuer was Reserve Champion of the US Young Horse Championships as a 5-year old and twice won the US Dressage Finals at Grand Prix.

Ironclad is a tall yearling that is expected to mature at least to 17 hands and is best suited for a professional. We’re very interested in seeing him in a home with experience of developing prospects from the Young Horse classes to the FEI ring.
