Javelin is a fun guy to ride, He has three big, elastic gaits that would be suitable for either lower level hunters dressage, or trail riding. Javelin is willing to please, eager to learn, and is a quick study in all that he is asked to do. Javelin has been slow developing physically due to his 17.1 H frame so we decided to start him this past Spring and he has been lightly but steadily worked for the past 6 months. He will soon be ready for the show ring. With training, Javelin will be an ideal Amateur horse due to his easy going and uncomplicated nature.

Javelin is naturally responsive to the aids and is doing solid trot work that includes leg yields and the beginning of shoulder-in. Javelin has a huge canter that is very comfortable to sit. At first Javelin is a little shy with new people but he loves attention and REALLY loves his treats. Javelin doesn't have any vices and he can be trimmed, have his mane pulled, stands for baths and for the farrier with ease. Javelin jumps right on the trailer with no prompting and travels great. Javelin has excellent feet that has allowed him to go barefoot throughout his life. Javelin has never been sick or colicky.

Javelin's sire, Lagoheidor, had a successful career as an open jumper in Europe until he was imported to the US and used as a dressage mount for an Amateur owner/rider where he achieved the upper levels. Javelin's dam pedigree is a who's who of famous stallions that have produced incredible dressage and jumper offspring. The dam line boasts the Keur stallion, Farrington; the Preferent stallion Ferro, and the Crown stallion Idocus.

Cornell did a full set of routine 3 year old radiographs on him in anticipation of future sale and they reported that he is clear of any OCD lesions or other orthopedic problems. Javelin contracted mild Stringhalt from an injury and had successful stringhalt surgery last year at Ohio State. He was given a clean bill of health from Ohio state for future athletic endeavors. His price reflects this issue.

Javelin is an exceptional horse that would make a great equine partner for the right person. References are required. Will only be sold to someone that has enough experience to bring along a very talented but green horse.
