3 Diamonds Farm is proud to present for a client: Jeffrie! This incredible horse is a 6 year old, 16.2hh, American bred, DHH gelding that can be registered KWPN and ADHHA. He’s a stunning blood bay with two white hind socks and really good bone on him. He is also an incredibly sweet pet of a horse in the barn, but an incredible talent under saddle. Jeffrie was professionally started and produced over the last two years by an upper level eventer with the intention to be a sales and show horse. As a result, Jeffrie is well on his way to becoming an upper level horse. While he is lovely on the flat with the ability to produce a brilliant dressage test, his jumping style is an impressive WOW! There is no doubt that Jeffrie will soar around at the highest level of the sport one day.

Jeffrie was brought along carefully and correctly. He started his under saddle career learning groundwork and desensitizing, even dragging mounting blocks across the arena and playing with tarps. As Jeffrie has developed, he has become quite a lovely riding horse. Currently, he is schooling novice height in stadium, as well as novice cross country questions. But Jeffrie has tackled much harder questions and much larger jumps, and no doubt has the scope for so much more! He has been out to a few jumper shows at Great Meadows, which had a ton of filler and a big atmosphere. He also has been cross country showing at Loch Moy and was super gamey and keen, tackling water, banks, etc., incredibly well for such a young horse. Jumping, Jeffrie is brave and really gives his rider a great feeling going around a course. He can take a mistake or bad distance and not hold it against his rider on the other side. On the flat, Jeffrie has mastered all the basics of first level straight dressage. He is still learning to develop more connection through his body, and reach into the bridle, but for such a talented young horse, he is developing incredibly well. He has three lovely gaits that are sure to impress in the dressage court!

In the barn, Jeffrie has a lovely pet personality. He has great ground manners and stands nicely on the cross ties, at the trailer, and at the mounting block. Perfect for the vet and farrier. Easy to groom and tack. He has very good feet and only wears front shoes (his only maintenance). Jeffrie also hacks out well by himself, riding in the wind and cold. Recently, Virginia has had horrible wind storms and Jeffrie is happy to carry on working, despite the weather conditions. He can also hack out by himself, down to his farm’s cross country field or around the fields, without needing a buddy. His farm is also a busy place with lots of action; from a ton of riders coming and going, many dogs running around, and other loud farm animals. Jeffrie handles all the excitement really well and is happy to focus on his job (especially if jumping) no matter what is going on. He also loves picking things up around the barn! He loves to help sweep the aisle, pick up a mint wrapper if one is dropped, hold his grooming brush, or even help by untacking himself by pulling off his saddle pads. Jeffrie even likes to hold his own reins or lead rope!

With all these wonderful things about Jeffrie does come the fact that he is a young Dutch warmblood and is a forward thinking ride. His ideal rider would be a good riding teen, ammy, or professional looking to produce an upper level talent. That rider should giggle and carry on when Jeffrie has a bit of a spook or a look at things. While Jeffrie is not a hot or crazy horse, he can have a little look here and there in a new environment. But Jeffrie is quite rideable in these new situations and is easy to refocus and take direction from his rider, especially when jumping. His new person should have a sense of humor, particularly with the adorable things that Jeffrie does in the barn (like picking everything up!). He is an incredibly talented and amazing jumper that will really help his next rider achieve all their dreams, but Jeffrie isn’t perfect and he wants someone to love him despite being a bit quirky as noted above. This truly is an incredible opportunity for someone to have an amazing horse for the future and produce their own upper level unicorn.
